Documentary Evening: Belo Monte - Announcement of a War

Facebook Event

An engaging documentary, that focuses on the struggle of indigenous peoples for land, respect and environmental preservation. The film is an independent and collective project that was filmed over 3 expeditions to the Xingu River, Altamira, Brasília and São Paulo.. It contains rich material behind the scenes of the most contraversial project being planned in Brazil. The footage is incredibly shocking, including interviews with the main people involved and impacted by the project, including Indiginous leaders (such as Cheif Raoni and Megaron), the Brazilian Attorney General (Dr. Felício Pontes), the president of the Brazilian National Indian Foundation - FUNAI (Márcio Meira) and local politicians in favour of the construction of the dam.
