The Great Park is the music of Stephen Burch
Stephen is an english songwriter currently living in Germany and a prolific composer and performer of journey songs, stories of pursuit and persecution – problem folk.
After completing a degree in fine art painting Stephen relocated to a remote rural farm in the west of Ireland and began writing songs whilst waiting for the large oil paintings he was working on to dry. Struck by the immediacy of song and the possibility for new narratives he returned to England, Settled in the seaside town of Brighton and soon started the Woodland Recordings DIY label with the help from a few musician friends, Woodland Recordings hosted regular concerts nights in Brighton and later in Berlin, and has made over 60 releases with hundreds of international artists.
Stephen played his first concerts in Germany in 2008 and has since toured Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal and Greece. He plays around a hundred concerts every year and has written and recorded over 15 albums.
Stephen has also contributed music to theatre and cinema, most recently for the film 'draussen ist sommer' and his songs have been covered by many artists including sons of Noel and Adrian, Liz Green, Fee Reega, Kristin McClement, Squalloscope, Aaron Dall, Elspeth Anne and Thirty Pound of Bone.
All Stephen's music is self-released through Woodland Recordings and the label runs a strict 'Home Recordings' policy and a handmade approach to it's catalogue.
Spiller eksperimenterende og modent alt.country med rod i lo-fi og 70'ernes sangskrivning. Forvent et lydbillede der er præget af kærlighed til den gode melodi og simple melankolske sange, fremført på orgel, klaver, leslie og guitar.
Duoen består af Anders Hjarsbech Uhrskov Nielsen (keyboard/Leslie/vox) og Martin T.H. Andersen (guitar/sax/vox).
Begge har rod i det aalborgensiske musikmiljø i 90'erne og 00erne i bands som tritonus, Into Rust og Drengebandet m.fl.).
Udover UHRSKOV;ANDERSEN er Martin T.H.Andersen også aktiv i det københavnske miljø omkring DIY selskabet Cat Box Corp i projektet Flowers of Yes!, der har flere udgivelser bag sig, og som udsendte albummet Silence & Trust tidligt 2016.
