The Suicide Shop

The Suicide Shop (French: Le Magasin des Suicides) is a 2012 French animated film written and directed by Patrice Leconte and is based on Jean Teule's novel of the same name.

It was released on 16 May 2012 in France. As with the source material, it centres on an undepressed child born into a proprietarial family that runs a shop that sells suicide adjuncts in a dilapidated, near future apocalyptic city ravaged by the vicissitudes of severe climate change.

The Plot:

In a small city, everybody is sad. The Tuvache, a family with a father, Mishima, a mother, Lucrèce, a daughter, Marilyn, a son, Vincent... And Alan, the happy son, work in a "Suicide Shop", catering for those, who wish to die.

The family runs the suicede shop in the distant future after the "Big One" where life has become meaningless for most, leading to them seeking out the Suicide Shop, where they have a method to kill yourself for any budget. When their youngest son, Alan is born, they discover that he is not like the others.
