* Peter King (uk) *
Known as the originator of the fast chat style. In 1982 he was the first MC to do that style with the tune called "Me Neat, Me Sweet". After mashing it up on Saxon with this tune artists like Smiley Culture, Asher Senator, Tippa Irie and Papa Levy soon adopted the fast chat, which was getting big all over and quickly spread to Jamaica and influenced jamaican DJ's a lot. This style is the precursor of today's drum and bass MCing as well.
From 1984-85 Peter King worked with the UK based recordlabel Fashion. Today you can find him on the newly released digital album "March of The Gremlins" by Naram with the tune "Teach Dem Fi Read, Write and Spell"
* Asher Senator (uk) *
His inspiration as a deejay came from deejays such as Brigadier Jerry and Nicodemus. His first single was "Abbreviation Qualification" b/w "Fast Style Origination" released on Fashion in 1984. It was voiced and mixed at the A-Class Dub Studio that was located under Dub Vendor at Lavender Hill. "Fast Style Origination" told the tale of the Fast Chat style originated by fellow Saxon deejay Peter King.
In the late 80's Asher set up his own label Senator Records where he would release his own productions featuring himself, Smiley Culture, Tippa Irie and Joseph Cotton. He is also to be found on the album "March of The Gremlins"
