Adelitas (us)
Forsete (dk)

BIO:

Adelitas is an anarchopunk band from Portland, Oregon. Their sound can be described as melodic hardcore punk influenced by Latin American Nueva Cancion and driven by dual female-male vocals sung in Spanish. The band formed in 2006, initially playing covers of punk songs from Argentina and Mexico, but soon settled into a stable lineup and started writing original material. The name Adelitas comes from a popular Mexican folk song and refers to the women who organized and took up arms during the Mexican Revolution. In this spirit the lyrics have focused on struggles around the border, immigration, and popular social movements that threaten the status quo. Que viva el punk revolucionario! In the fall of 2007 we recorded the first 11-song album “Guerrilla armada con melodias” (Guerrilla Armed with Melodies), which was released on CD and cassette by Malkriad@s Records. This was followed by a two-month tour covering the US and Mexico. 2008 saw the band mainly in Portland but included a short tour heading down the west coast to play Latino Fest in Montebello, CA. In early 2009, “Un Solo Grito” (A Single Scream) EP came out on Defector Records, followed by a western US tour based around LA Clitfest in August of that year. In July 2011 we released the “No hay descanso” (There is no rest) LP with help from Tomorrow Belongs to Us, Jornalero Records, and La Soceite Pue Prod labels and this was followed by a whirlwind US tour that saw us out to the east coast and back in just over three weeks. The "Llama Viva de la Rabia" (Living Flame of Rage) LP was released by Aborted Society Records in August 2012 and in July and August of that year we toured the US West Coast and Mexico.
